HKUSPACE launching cloud certification course

Hong Kong University's school of professional and continuing education HKUSPACE is developing a new cloud computing certification course in co-operation with Amazon Web Services and Cyberport.

The new Foundation Certificate in Cloud Computing and Architecture will launch during the Internet Economy Summit co-organized by the HKSAR government and Cyberport on Friday.

The new certificate will be designed to cater to the needs of enterprises seeking to upgrade their talent pool to enhance competitiveness, and the needs of professionals aiming to gear up their skills to capute new career opportunities.

Cyberport will arrange from technology companies from its community of over 1,000 companies to share their cloud computing experience with course attendees. Part of the course will also be held at the HKUSPACE Cyber Institute at Cyberport.

A signing ceremony for the new initiative will be held on Friday and attended by HKUSPACE deputy director of academic services Dr John Cribbin, AWS Greater China corporate VP and managing director Alex Yung and Cyberport CEO Peter Yan.

The two-day Internet Economy Summit will also feature forums on entrepreneurship, technological innovation, new business breakthroughs and predictions for the future. Industry experts will discuss and share insights into how today's businesses can harness internet-led growth in the new economy.
