WTT wins LOOP Platinum Label for third year

Enterprise focused fixed line telecoms service provider WTT has attained the Low-Carbon Office Operation Program (LOOP) Platinum Label for the third year running.

The accolade from WWF-Hong Kong is a recognition of WTT's average 3.7% annual reduction in carbon emission per capita compared to the basis year.

WTT was the first ICT service provider to obtain a LOOP Gold Label in 2010, and first achieved Platinum Label status in 2016.

“Maintaining low-carbon operations is a pillar in WTT’s philosophy and values and we never cease to carry it forward,” WTT VP of human resources Florence Cheung said.

“It is simply a responsibility of anyone who is taking advantage of our natural surroundings. I appreciate our colleagues’ sheer determination in protecting the environment, and the 3-in-a-row LOOP Platinum achievement is an encouraging recognition for their contributions.”

Cheung said WTT has been engaged in a number of environmental protection actions over the past year, including an e-Commuting Campaign to calculate the emission levels of staff commuting to and from work.

The company has also been operating Exchange and Donate programs of books, school bags, shoes, housewares and kitchen utensils, and has upgraded its printing system while implementing a “think twice before print” policy to slash paper usage.
