PayPal has entered a collaboration with HKTV's online shopping mall HKTVmall to provide digital payments customers.

With the arrangement, HKTVmall customers will be able to check out using PayPal while shopping on HKTVmall's website and mobile app.

Eligible purchases made with PayPal on HKTVmall can qualify for PayPal's Buyer Protection and Refunded Returns services, while merchants will be entitled to Seller Protection on eligible transactions.

“We believe that online shopping is all about customer experience - starting from the shopping interface, payment, warehousing and logistics - we are talking about choices and services,” HKTV chairman Ricky Wong said.

“With PayPal’s secure payments platform, we offer more payment options to customers, and hope that this can convert more browsers to buyers by providing one of the best possible online shopping experiences. This is crucial to our efforts in growing our business to become the best online shopping mall in Hong Kong,”

PayPal senior director and general manager for Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan Soon Sze Meng said the company has more than 10 years of experience in the city's digital payments market.

With the new agreement, PayPal's Hong Kong customers will be able to use the service to pay for fresh groceries, household products and electronics.
