Global network provider Colt Technology Services has expanded its software-defined networking (SDN) enabled On Demand service to Hong Kong.
As part of the expansion - which also covers the US, Portugal and Austria - Colt will introduce 100G ports in critical data centers, and provide on-demand connections of up to 20Gbps.
Hong Kong based customers will be able to flexibly adjust bandwidth as required in real-time in 17 major metropolitan areas across APAC, the EU and the US.
“For years, Colt has focused on creating a backbone that is purpose-built for the technological challenges of today,” Colt Technology Services VP of product portfolio Peter Coppens said.
“This latest expansion to our On Demand portfolio, sees the network now truly behave in an innovative way, with enterprises being able to access high bandwidth, on-demand solutions across multiple continents, that can be delivered in minutes and then flexed up or down in bandwidth as needed.
Coppens said the expansion of its On Demand offering is aimed at meeting surging traffic demands in Asia-Pacific and elsewhere.
“We have known for some time that the demand for high bandwidth connectivity isn’t slowing down, and we are confident that the latest expansion of our On Demand solutions can meet this demand and continue to enable enterprises’ digital transformations,” he said.
Colt's IQ Network now connects more than 850 data centers across the three continents, with over 27,500 on net buildings.
