VMware appoints new GM of HK and Macau

VMware has appointed Franco Lan to the post of general manager for Hong Kong and Macau.

Lan has has a more than 30 career in the Hong Kong and regional IT industry, with a strong track record in sales management.

He joins VMware from SUNeVision Holdings, where he was senior vice president of sales and marketing for iAdvantage. In this role, Lan restructured the iAdvantage marketing effort by adopting a new digital approach for reaching target audiences worldwide.

VMware president of Greater China Bernard Kwok said Lan's broad understanding of the ecosystem of multi-cloud and hybrid IT will serve him well in his new role.

“Franco brings with him an outstanding track record of achievement and a substantial background in the technology sector,” he said.

“With a unique grasp of the Hong Kong and Macau technology landscape, Franco is well placed to support VMware in implementing its long-term strategy and to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.”
