HKT Education launches AI learning programs

HKT Education will distribute UBTECH's AI robots in Hong Kong and Macau as part of its new AI education initiative (Image HKT)

HKT Education has launched a series of STEM programs and courses aimed at promoting artificial intelligence learning and teaching.

As part of the initiative, HKT has become a distributor of UBTECH's various AI humanoid robots in Hong Kong and Macau with the goal of broadening the learning horizon of students in AI technology.

HKT Education has also invited Hong Kong's Koding Kingdom to become a classroom partner for the initiative.

The new STEM education service programs will include AI courses, lesson plans, teaching tools and training programs.

HKT Education and HKT Consumer Group managing director Ringo Ng said the initiative is aimed at allowing Hong Kong students with basic STEM foundations and a certain degree in programming skills to learn new knowledge and skills and enhance their competitiveness through AI self-learning methods.

“AI is an indispensable part of promoting smart city, and nurturing smart talents has become a key part of the AI global competition,” he said.

“To nurture talent of AI related expertise for our society, HKT education endeavors to assist the education sector to move forward into the AI era, which is an important step towards Hong Kong becoming a smart city.”
