HKSTP and the Hong Kong Productivity Council will host a joint conference on Thursday focused on the push to transform Hong Kong into a smart city.
The [email protected] Kong: Our Smart City Journey conference will take place at Science Park from 9:00am to 12:30pm.
The event will feature themed conferences, as well as a showcase and tour of the latest smart city technologies being tested at Science Park.
Innovations to be showcased include 5G networking technologies, autonomous vehicles, an unmanned retail shop, a smart ice cream machine, smart lockers, a smart chatbot, a security patrol robot and postal e-stamp applications.
At the event, China Mobile and Hong Kong and ASTRI also plan to announce new collaborations on 5G technology development.
The conference will be attended by representatives of the HKSAR government – including secretary for innovation and technology Nicholas Yang, commissioner for innovation and technology Anne Choi and government CIO Victor Lam, as well as HKSTP chairman Sunny Chai and HKPC chairman Willy Lin. The event will be conducted in Cantonese.
